Baek In-Rib

Abstract
This study analyzed the transformations of old age pension systems of UK, Sweden and Germany. The old age pension systems in the mid-1970s and those of the present day were compared and contrasted within each country. In this way, this study tried to find out the differences and similarities of the transformations. The similarities of the transformations are as follows: the Reduction of benefit level; the reform of the adjustment factors; the strengthening of private pensions or the element of private insurance; the strengthening of assistance benefits; the consideration of parental time; the increase of the incentive to take up employment. By the decisive structural change, the differences of the transformations were found out. In the british pension system, the responsibility of the state is reduced and the charge of the market is increased. As for Sweden, the state uses the market while it continues to take the main role after the restructurization. In the German pension system, it was observed that there are no fundamental changes to the structure.
